So it’s official after today schools will be closing for an undetermined amount of time! 🙈🙈🙈
So I thought I would share some resources I have come across that have loads of activity ideas, workbooks etc and a lot of paid websites have scrapped fees for now so all resources and apps are available to everyone.
So I will be sharing those also. What I have found so far and will continue to update as the days go along.
The first thing you need to do is join these Facebook groups. It’s parents sharing funny memes, websites, support and ideas. It’s called family lockdown- tips and ideas

The next thing I want to tell you about is that The British Sign Language are doing a free course to learn BSL for under 18 so I think that is a really good idea. So I’ve signed up to do it and you get a Certificate at the end. You just have to show proof of age but I just took a photo of Milly’s birth certificate. NHS staff get a discount too with proof.
Just go to Britsh sign Language website add to basket then go to checkout and then select under 18. Fill in your details and within two minutes you can enrol on the course. Maybe if we all learnt this we could bring deaf people out of isolation.
You have probably already heard about this but Joe Wicks will be doing a live PE lesson monday to Friday 8am until 9am on his YouTube channel
Twinkl have not only created home learning and school closure packs, but have also introduced an offer for all of them to be completely free!! Whether you’re a teacher, parent or home educator they have put together a simple, step-by-step guide about this offer of help, for us all to use.
I downloaded their EYFS pack and it has loads of activity ideas that are just fun for them to do but encourages learning aswell. I was also then given an offer to get a free pack for signing up with them so I chose a dinosaur rhyme and movement pack which Milly will love.
TTS have also made their activity books completely free to download. The have early years, key stage 1 and key stage 2. I downloaded the early years one and I’m really impressed! I’m not going to have Milly sat down all day because that just wouldn’t happen anyway but it’s just to give me some ideas to do with her.

Holiday Pirates have live streams of animals at 13 different zoos so we will definitely be having a look at this as Milly loves her animals at the moment. Well she always has to be fair so this will be fab for her.
Code Camp World have scrapped their usual subscription fees and opened up their their website so your Children can learn to code online with step by step instructions on how to build a selection of apps/games! So if your child is between age 7 and 12 this could be fun for them to do and something different.

To empower parents/guardians to feel confident to model & encourage learning through play for a range of ages & abilities (Age 2-10 yrs), I have provided some initial basic training on our 8 senses & sensory play, as well as 8 sensory play activities with a choice of learning objectives for each activity. To fundamentally try to ensure the safety of those children who learn & self-regulate through their heightened oral motor proprioceptive sense & through chewing, tasting or mouthing toys & non-food items, I have taken a great deal of care to try to provide safe activities that will not be hazardous if accidentally eaten, so parents can simply relax during the play activities & enjoy making positive memories together.
The Muddy puddle teacher have set a FREE subscription up for initially one month but if schools remain closed they will continue supporting us parents to educate at home. So I thought I would have a look and I’m really impressed and highly recommend taking a look.
So this is what I have come across and been made aware of as of 20/03/2020 I will update daily so follow my blog if you like my post then please subscribe to my little blog and share to inform other parents.
